Post-Quantum Cryptography and HashiCorp Vault

HashiCorp is already planning for the world of quantum computers and how they might affect Vault's security.

Speakers

Quantum cryptography and cryptanalysis are quickly becoming one of the most disruptive technologies in the history of information security. With critical security infrastructure such as public key cryptography (aka PKI) at risk to quantum cryptanalysis, many governments and organizations have begun to revise regulations such as FIPS 140-2 and PCI-DSS to redefine security in a post-quantum world.

What are quantum cryptography and quantum cryptanalysis? How do they work? And how do modern cryptographic systems need to adapt to protect themselves against adversaries who can wield quantum computing to break traditional cryptography?

What You'll Learn

This talk is an introduction to quantum cryptography and cryptanalysis: the physics and mathematics behind how quantum computers provide unique opportunities and threats to traditional cryptographic systems. We will review the basics behind quantum mechanics and quantum computers, why quantum computers pose a unique threat to cryptographic systems and what secure infrastructure systems must do to protect secrets in a post-quantum world.
